Arsenal playmaker Santi Cazorla has confirmed that he has not been offered a new deal with the North London club.

Cazorla has been out of action since October 2016 with a horror injury that he has been steadily working to recover from.

During his last game for the club, the small Spaniard suffered an injury to his Achilles tendon, and after standard rehabilitation processes didn’t work, he eventually had to sit through eight bouts of surgery.

Having then contracted gangrene in the effected area which was described as having ‘eaten’ into the tendon itself, doctors feared he would never be able to walk again, with some even questioning whether he may have to lose his leg.

However, after a skin graft from his forearm and plentiful recovery time, Cazorla is on the mend, but while he has taken part in light training drills, he is still some way off playing competitively.

Talking to Spanish outlet Cadena SER, as quoted by FourFourTwo, Cazorla isn’t sure whether he’ll still be with the Gunners next season, as he aims on a return to football in 2019. The 33-year old said;

I finish my contract in June and I do not know anything about my future.

We will see what happens, but for the moment nobody has offered me anything at Arsenal.

Cazorla signed for Arsenal in 2012 for around £10million from La Liga side Malaga.
