Arsenal are not rushing into appointing their next manager, with Arsene Wenger set to take charge of the team for his last game against Huddersfield on Sunday.

David Ornstein, a BBC journalist who specialises in Arsenal news, released an update on Saturday afternoon on his official Twitter page.

He said that Arsenal are not close to appointing a new manager and that there’s currently no agreement on candidate, with talks ongoing.

He said that it is highly unlikely that Arsenal will be in a position to make the announcement next week, but he did say that former Arsenal player Mikel Arteta is one name that’s being considered.
