Massimiliano Allegri wants Arsenal to promise him a £200million transfer kitty to spend this summer before agreeing to replace Arsene Wenger.
Wenger, 68, said last month that the Gunners needed ‘two or three’ signings to compete for the Premier League title – but Allegri believes five major signings are needed, according to The Sun.
Allegri, who is set to win a fourth consecutive Serie A title with Juventus, has emerged as one of the favourites to replace Wenger at the Emirates.
But the 50-year-old Italian is said to be concerned over the lack of quality in an Arsenal squad that has missed out on a top-four finish for the past two years.
It is claimed Allegri is prepared to leave Juve this summer but wants reassurances that he will be given the opportunity to make Arsenal a force in Europe once again.
He has competed for the Champions League with Juventus and The Sun say his ultimate dream would be to steer Arsenal to the European Trophy.
But Allegri knows this will be a long journey for a club that has fallen way short both domestically and in Europe over the past five years. One of the biggest concerns for Allegri is reportedly the lack of discipline in the Arsenal camp.
