Arsenal desperately need to land some quality players this summer to make a serious assault on the League next season. The most important department on the pitch which needs new blood is our defence, most importantly, the Centre Backs.
According to latest report, Arsenal are willing to pay £35million to Bundesliga side Freiburg in a bid to land centre-back Caglar Soyuncu.
Although Arsenal are yet to appoint a successor for Arsene Wenger, Sven Mislintat is apparent busy to ensure that the Gunners have smooth ride in in the League next season.
Soyuncu has attracted interest from top European clubs including Bayern Munich but Altinordu president Seyit Mehmet Ozkan had linked the 21-year-old centre-back with a move to Arsenal.
The centre-back joined SC Freiburg from Altinordu in the summer of 2016 and he has steadily proved his mettle for the side since then, and he could ply his trade with Arsenal next term.
Caglar Soyuncu is set to join Arsenal,” Ozkan said as quoted by Goal earlier this month.
“Arsenal demanded his youth information from us. We’ll earn from him if he joins Arsenal. Bayern Munich wants him too, but he’s on the way to the Premier League.”
And now, the Telegraph reports that Mislintat is responsible for the move for Soyuncu. Mislintat is very well known and credited with unearthing several talents, with the latest being Konstantinos Mavropanos for Arsenal.
Soyuncu is likened to Matt Hummel of Bayern Munich because of his aerial ability and speed. He is very much likely going to be an Arsenal player next season.
