Arsenal have been closely linked with a move for Freiburg defender Caglar Soyuncu.
A source close to the player revealed to Turkish-Football that Arsenal are expected to send club officials to keep tabs on the defender over his next three international games against Iran, Tunisia and Russia.
The 22-year-old has been called up to the Turkey national side and is likely to start against Iran on Monday at the Basaksehir Fatih Terim Stadium.
Despite his age the rising star has managed to establish himself as a first-choice pick for Turkey as well as Freiburg.
The Telegraph reported that Arsenal are pushing with a move for Soyuncu that could cost them in the region of £35 million.
Per the source, Gunners head of recruitment Sven Mislintat has been driving Arsenal’s move for the young defender.
The Bundesliga starlet revealed that he will make a decision regarding his future after the international break.
“I had a great season,“ Soyuncu was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football said when asked about reports linking him with a move to the Arsenal.
“We are thinking about taking that next step up.
“I told my agent and my club that I want to hold talks about my future after the international break.
“The talks will be held after the national team games.”
Turkey take on Iran on Monday 28 May followed by a trip to Switzerland to face Tunisia on 1 June and finally Russia on 5 June, in Russia.
