Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing France international Steven N’Zonzi.
According to the Mirror, the Gunners are strongly linked with the midfielder and are preparing a summer swoop on him from Spanish top-flight Sevilla.
N’Zonzi has netted eight times in 136 appearances, after a reported £8 million switch from relegated Premier League side Stoke City for the Spanish giants, since joining them last July.
Reports indicate that new boss Unai Emery is interested in the midfielder and is willing to make him one of his first signings after gunning for him behind closed doors with top Emirates executives.
It is understood that Emery was one of those behind his move to Spanish side Sevilla before he left the Seville outfit for PSG. There are growing speculations that he is willing to unite with the 29-year-old at Arsenal.
After a shocking disappointing run to last term campaign, Arsenal continue their hunt for reinforcements following the resignation of former boss Arsene Wenger at the club.
New head of recruitment, Sven Mislintat, is believed to have discussed the possibility of N’Zonzi’s switch to the Emirates with Emery and plans to start negotiations soon.
Nzonzi is valued at £27m and will certainly fit the Gunners meagre transfer budget.
