North London outfit Arsenal are set to revamp their squad after a disappointing season where they failed to qualify for the Premier League top four resulting to absence from the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League.

Despite starting strong at the beginning of the campaign, they failed to finish ahead of local rivals Tottenham who earned the third slot to qualify for the Champions League next term displacing another rival Chelsea who finished fifth behind Liverpool.

Their slip from the top four this season questioned the managerial abilities of the league’s longest serving manager and former boss Arsene Wenger, who was later replaced by Unai Emery.

As the new Premier League season approaches, Arsenal are believed to have closed in on a number of good deals the likes of Stephan Lichtsteiner and Sokratis Papastathopoulos. Although, the former has been officially confirmed by the Gunners.

However, there are rising gossips that they are still hunting for reinforcements at the back, hence, their suspected interest in Stuggart defender Benjamin Parvard.

At the same time, Stuggart have issued a statement through their sporting director Michael Reschke that there has been no registered interest in the player from Arsenal as claimed and that his club are determined to retain him ahead of the new Bundesliga season.

“We’ve discussed the national team, the Champions League and that it’s our mutual focus to have him play at VfB next season.” per the club’s official website.

The 22-year-old France international was exceptional for the Bundesliga side last term, and would be instrumental to either team he plays fir in 2018/19.

Pavard is valued at £27.00m.
