Arsenal are weighing in on a deal for Argentina and Sevilla midfielder Ever Banega, this is according to report.

Emery is on a spending spree ahead of the upcoming season and he’s made the signing of a central midfielder one of his priorities of the summer.

The Gunners have been linked with a plethora of midfielders including Jean Michael Seri and Lucas Torreira – there are rife claims that the Gunners have agreed to sign the aforementioned latter central midfielder but Emery appear to want another midfield addition.

Banega returned to Sevilla in the summer of 2017 after a one-year spell with Inter Milan and he has been closely monitored by Emery who signed him for Sevilla in 2014 from Valencia.

The Gunners are bracing themselves for the imminent exit of Jack Wilshere, who has rejected contract offers from Arsenal and is on the verge of joining another club.

Banega is fleet-footed playmaker in the stead of Wilshere and  Gazza Mercato, claim that Emery has sanctioned an Arsenal move for the player, asking the hierarchy of the London club to sign him.

Arsenal appointed Sven Mislintat as head football relations and Raul Sanllehi as Head of football operations, leaving Emery with only the on-pitch matters. However, it appears the Spanish tactician wants to have a say on who would execute his plans on the pitch.

Benega still has two year left on his contract with Sevilla but the report further claims he agent is due to travel to London to trash out a potential deal for the star.

The star is currently valued at £10.80m according to transfermarkt.
