Arsenal Prepare For €65m Wilshere Replacement

Arsenal are set to sign Napoli midfield star Piotr Zielinski as they look to get a commanding midfield general, according to Mirror.

The Gunners are in need of a commanding presence in midfield and are already likely to be thin in the central midfield positions with Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla both getting nearer to the end of their contracts and yet to renew.

While Cazorla is almost certain to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer, Wilshere’s departure on the other hand is debatable.

Majority of Arsenal fans have begun pleading with the England international Jack Wilshere to accept the new cut-price contract offered to him by the club.

Wilshere has been referred to by outgoing manager Arsene Wenger as an “Arsenal man”, urging him to pen a new deal at the club. The 26-year old on his own part is reportedly keen on remaining in North London.

The midfielder’s love for Arsenal and the fact that he just recently welcomed a new child with his wife, meaning he is properly settled in London, has led bookmarkers and online betting platforms to back Wilshere to remain in England and continue his career.

According to reports from Italy, Poland international Poitr Zielinski is now a target for the Gunners and the news has seen his club scrambling to get rid of his €65 million release clause as Arsenal are said to be willing to pay it.

Zielinski 23, has made 45 appearances this season, with a decent return of seven goals and three assists to his name.

Although he hasn’t been a consistent starter he has impressed for Maurizio Sarri’s title chasing side after having previously impressed with Udinese.

The midfielder has improved this season and gained valuable experience with Napoli in Europe, but whether Arsenal will sign him or not largely depends on whoever succeeds Arsene Wenger.

Do you think Zeilinski would be a good addition, or should the money be used to sign someone else? Let us know your opinion in the comment section.
