Arsenal are keen to include Carl Jenkinson in negotiations for Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney, though reports suggest the Scottish club are holding firm on their asking price of £25m.

Football.London report that Arsenal want to get a deal over the line without going too far above their opening bid of £15m.

The Gunners have a restricted transfer budget of around £45m, and spending over half of it on one player would damage their pursuit of other targets.

As a result, Arsenal are considering including various players in a swap deal, either permanently or on loan.

They’re most keen on packaging Carl Jenkinson into the transfer, and Celtic do have an interest in the right-back with a year left on his contract.

The likes of Jordi Osei-Tutu, Emile Smith Rowe, Konstantinos Mavropanos and Eddie Nketiah are also up for grabs, most likely on loan deals.

Arsenal are set to resume negotiations for Tierney today, according to the Daily Record. They are ‘undeterred’ at having their first bid dismissed out of hand, and ‘optimistic’ that a deal will be done before pre-season begins next month.

The Scottish Sun report that Arsenal are offering Tierney a five-year deal worth over £70k-a-week, significantly more than he’s currently earning with Celtic. David Ornstein‘s previous report on the subject suggested personal terms wouldn’t be a problem.
