Done Deal: Celtic star Tierney can finally be on his way to Arsenal

Celtic have signed Rapid Vienna left-back Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo for £3m and hope to have him signed in time to be in their Champions League qualifying squad.

“We are not too far away, and he will be another good addition to the squad,” said Celtic manager, Neil Lennon.

“He gives us competition at left-back, he’s strong, athletic and good on the ball.

“He fits the criteria and hopefully he’ll be in before the weekend.”

That doesn’t mean that Kieran Tierney is headed to Arsenal, however, with reports claiming that Napoli have taken the lead in the race for his signature.

But, at the time of writing, the Scottish champions have only received one bid – £15m from Arsenal.

“As I said last week, the first offer wasn’t what we’d look for and I don’t think we’ve had another one yet,” Lennon said. “It’s as you were. Will it rumble on? Probably.

“These things take their course whether it happens or not. We have a price for our player. He’s on a long-term contract and we won’t sell him for anything less than we feel is the right price. In terms of where he is mentally, it’s got to be unsettling for him, it’s only natural.”

David Ornstein reported this week that a deal is there to be done for Arsenal but, as we know, the availability of cash is a major problem for the Gunners.

The Sunday Post, however, claim that Arsenal looked to be winning the fight with Napoli, and are planning a £20m bid with £5m add-ons to match Celtic’s valuation.
