Reports from the Italian media suggest that Juventus star Sami Khedira could leave the club, with Unai Emery’s Arsenal among the clubs keen on securing his signature.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Serie A giants are said to be considering selling a host of players, with the likes of Fiorentina and Valencia also taking an interest in the German midfielder.

The World Cup winner, now 32, only featured in 10 matches in the league for the Turin giants last campaign, with the likes of Miralem Pjanic and Blaise Matuidi above him in the pecking order as injuries affected his season.

And Bianconeri have recently added in the middle of the park, thanks to the arrivals of Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot – both on free transfers.

While there’s now talk of a belated swap, this isn’t the first time Khedira has been connected with a move to North London, with reports in the Spanish press claiming Arsenal and Real Madrid – Sami’s club at the time – had reached an agreement for Germany international’s transfer back in 2014.

However, it never transpired, but reports are now connecting the defensive midfielder with Arsenal once again.

However, Arsenal – like the Old Lady – have also recently signed in central midfield, following their recent acquisition of Dani Ceballos, almost ironically from Real Madrid himself.

Meantime, young midfielder Joe Willock is potentially looking at a future senior team place after being involved occasionally the previous year as well as during Arsenal’s pre-season tour, scoring in the north London heavyweights’ comfortable win over Fiorentina.
