Arsenal have sold the versatile Polish defender Krystian Bielik to the EFL Championship outfit Derby County for a fee of £10m.
The 21-year-old star, who joined from Legia Warsaw back in 2015, leaves north London giants without having made a single EPL appearance for the club, with his only two games in a Gunners shirt coming in the Carabao Cup.
Bielik enjoyed a successful loan stint at Charlton Athletic last campaign, helping the club earn promotion to the English second tier via the play-offs.
His showings for the Addicks saw him attract attention from a number of Championship teams, while Serie A heavyweights AC Milan were also connected with a move.
Goal reported on Thursday that Krystian was on the verge of signing for Derby after he indicated to Arsenal that he did not want to go out on loan for the 2019-20 term.
The Gunners were interested in retaining the Poland Under-21 international but the star favoured a departure from the club if he wasn’t going to be given the senior team opportunities he craved under Unai Emery this campaign.
He could make his Rams debut in their EFL Championship season opener versus Huddersfield Town at the John Smith’s Stadium on Monday.
The deal gives the Gunners a timely cash boost with a couple of days to go until the summer transfer deadline in Premier League.
