Arsenal wants to take the Italian defender Daniele Rugani on a two-year loan deal as the club approach Juventus with an offer to solve their defensive woes.

The Gunners are flying high in the summer transfer market after some stunning deals in the last two weeks.

While Arsenal have made signings to shore up their attack and midfield, they are still in the market for a centre-back and a left-back.

According to The Sun, Arsenal have contacted Juventus with an offer for centre-half Daniele Rugani with the idea of taking the star on a two-year loan deal.

Arsenal have had an active last two weeks, announcing two essential acquisitions to strengthen their side ahead of the new campaign.

William Saliba joined from Ligue 1 club Saint-Etienne on a five-year contract but has been sent back to the French side on a season-long loan.

Dani Ceballos also joined from the Spanish heavyweights Real Madrid on a season loan agreement, and manager Unai Emery now targets defensive players.

Apart from the fact that Gunners announced the arrival of LOSC Lille’s Nicolas Pepe, the Gunners are also about to reach a total agreement with Celtic for the defender Kieran Tierney.

However, one of the main concerns for Unai remains central defence with a lack of certainty surrounding a few of their regular stars.

Shkodran Mustafi is said to leave with AS Monaco in the running, while France international Laurent Koscielny is looking for an exit.

While the transfer market has been slightly dry for centre-backs, Arsenal are trying to secure Daniele from Juventus on a loan deal. Before this idea of a loan deal, the Gunners were looking to sign him permanently.
