A few days back there were reports linking Arsenal with moves to sign Brazil international, Philippe Coutinho on loan from Barcelona, which many cited as rumour, however, Arsenal have taken one step ahead in the race to sign the player.
According to The Sun, the Gunners interest in Coutinho increased when they met Barcelona officials during the Gamper Trophy match, which was won by the Spanish side.
Arsenal don’t have the luxury to sign the Brazilian player permanently having spent their limited budget on Nicolas Pepe this summer. However, the Gunners are hoping Barcelona will let them get him on loan.
Other teams said to be interested in Coutinho include the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Paris Saint Germain PSG, and Man Utd.
The Catalans have stated that the Brazil forward is free to leave after he fell out of favor at the Camp Nou. The Spanish club signed Coutinho in a mouth-watering deal from Liverpool in 2018 but he has not been able to perform to the money they paid the Reds to sign him.
Should Arsenal manage to sign Coutinho, the Gunners attack will turn out to be one of the most dangerous in the world but at the same time some players at Emirates stadium will lose playing chances.
