signed and sealed as centre forward completes Arsenal transfer

Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.

Young Gunners centre-forward Eddie Nketiah will spend the 2019/20 season on loan at Championship side Leeds United, amid collecting three goals for the London club during their pre-season preparations

U20 England international was a standout performer as his club beat Colorado Rapids, Bayern Munich and Fiorentina on their tour of the USA, netting the decisive effort with the German club, while also collecting a brace versus the Italians.

Nketiah also made an appearance off the bench in a 2-2 draw with Real Madrid, a match which Los Blancos won on penalties. Though Eddie proved his capabilities in the Gunners first-team setup, a year in the second division would no doubt serve him well as Eddie looks to hone his abilities and gain experience in senior football.

Having spent seven years in the youth ranks at Stamford Bridge, the striker made a switch across the city in 2015 after Chelsea decided to release him.

Nketiah has since worked his way up the chain in London cloub, earning a first-team call-up during the reign of Arsene Wenger following a marvellous tally of 15 goals in 16 games in the 2016/17 campaign.

The 20-year-old centre-forward would make his competitive Arsenal debut shortly afterwards, though it would take until May 2019 for the teenager to get his maiden Premier League goal as he fired home against Burnley.

Peacocks will undoubtedly find a place for English striker in their lineup as they aim to the right the wrongs of the last term and finally secure a top-flight comeback, the Whites last competing in the first division in 2004.
