The former Celtic star showed what he’s capable of with some cheeky skill against Shkodran Mustafi in his first Arsenal training session

New boy Kieran Tierney humbled Arsenal outcast Shkodran Mustafi by nutmegging him in his first training session.

The Scotland international has been restricted to the treatment table since arriving from Celtic in a £25m summer deal.

But Tierney excited fans by showing that he is nearing match fitness ahead of Arsenal’s upcoming clash with Watford this weekend.

Gunners boss Unai Emery’s training sessions are reportedly more intense than those under the previous regime.

And Mustafi became Tierney’s victim during a drill which sees one player attempt to intercept a pass while surrounded by a circle of opponents.

But the central defender, who is surplus to requirements at Arsenal, was duped into leaving himself vulnerable to the classic nutmeg.

Tierney spotted the opportunity and slid the ball through Mustafi’s legs, causing his team-mates to roar with laughter.

And in the video, which was uploaded by Arsenal media, club-record signing Nicolas Pepe can be heard cheering the left-back on.

“End this man,” the Ivorian winger gleefully shouts as Mustafi looks embarrassed.

Arsenal fans loved the skill and paid tribute to their new signing in the comments, while also slamming the defender.

One Gooner wrote: “Lol! Mustafi doing Mustafi things!!! Can’t wait to see KT balling though.”

“Already blaming his team mates for the nutmeg,” another tweeted.

“Look at Ozil shouting at Kolasinac..’Nuts’,” laughed a third supporter.

Tierney has not played a competitive match since May due to knee and groin injuries and underwent a double hernia operation over the summer.

He and Hector Bellerin are in line to return to first-team action by the end of September.

They could potentially be involved for Arsenal’s home match against Standard Liege on October 3 in the Europa League.

Mustafi is set for a season on the sidelines after Arsenal were unable to move him on over the summer.

The World Cup winner made a series of high-profile blunders last term, causing Emery to lose faith in him.

The Gunners will look to get back to winning ways against the Hornets on Sunday after failing to beat both Liverpool and Tottenham prior to the international break.
