The former Arsenal man was a late substitute against Atletico Madrid
Aaron Ramsey has made his first appearance for Juventus since completing a free transfer move in the summer.
The former Arsenal man came on as a 87th minute substitute in the 2-2 Champions League draw with Atletico Madrid on Wednesday evening.
Ramsey missed the end of last season after picking up a hamstring injury during the Europa League quarter final against Napoli in April. The midfielder had already agreed a move to Italy, meaning that it would be his last game in a Gunners’ shirt.
The Welshman has slowly been fighting his way back to fitness over the summer, but had to wait until late in the second half of the opening Champions League match against Atletico to make his first appearance in a Juventus shirt.
Ramsey entered the field of play with his team leading 2-1. Goals from Juan Cuadrado and Blaise Matuidi had put the visitors firmly in control, but a 70th minute strike from Stefan Savic halved the deficit.
Having only been on the pitch for a matter of minutes, Juventus conceded a 90th minute equaliser from Hector Herrera, meaning that the game ended in a 2-2 draw.
The timing of the substitute and the goal wasn’t lost on Arsenal fans who took to social media to point out the fact.
