Former Arsenal man Martin Keown has heaped praise on young Gunners star Bukayo Saka after his stunning goal against Frankfurt.
Speaking during BT Sport’s coverage of the game, as cited on social media by @afcstuff, he said:
“You think of the way Pepe’s playing at the moment, they paid £72m for him & this kid looks better than him tonight. Look at this for composure [for his goal]. It’s a beautiful finish. 18 years of age, unbelievable.”
The comments from Keown are high praise indeed, but these Arsenal fans on Twitter are not happy with the unnecessary comparison from one of their former players.
does anybody still take Keown seriously?

What a fool, used to rate Keown highly as pundit but every other week he comes up with ridiculous statements.

Ahh, lol he sounds like someone who brings others down to make himself feel better. Why talk about Pépé?

Why talk about Pepe. When you can just praise a player without calling another for reference.. Pepe is under a huge pressure to deliver and same can’t be said for saka

Why bring in Pepe into this? He hardly played.

These comments from the Arsenal supporters are fair and you have to raise questions about Keown’s comments in the first place.
Pepe has arrived at the club with a huge price tag on his shoulders, while also battling with his fitness as he tries to adapt to a new league.
Saka has nothing to prove but everything to gain at Arsenal, while many are expecting an immediate impact from Pepe.
He has shown flashes of brilliance but the best is yet to come from him that is for sure, providing he is given the time to prove himself.
