Mesut Ozil has featured just once under Unai Emery this season and was on the bench in the Gunners’ dramatic 3-2 in over Aston Villa on Sunday.
Second-half goals from Nicolas Pepe, Callum Chambers and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang helped the Gunners overturn a first-half deficit and earnt a first Premier league win in 36 days.
The club released some unseen footage from the Arsenal bench on Monday morning, with Ozil showing his appreciation for Aubameyang’s late effort.
And these Arsenal fans were quick to reply to the post, with many calling for Ozil to return to the side while hitting out at Emery.
Meanwhile, these Gunners supporters were shocked that the German was brought to his feet by Aubameyang’s effort.
Even though Ozil has seemingly fallen out of favour under Emery, it’s great to see the German’s brilliant reaction to the late winner.
The 30-year-old’s attitude is what the Gunners faithful want to see from one of their star men, and we think he needs to feature more regularly over the coming weeks.
Arsenal have four games in just 13 days, beginning against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, and failing to use Ozil in any of the four would be seen as criminal by many supporters.
