Arsenal have given promising attacking midfielder Stan Flaherty permission to undergo a trial at West Ham United ahead of a move to the club.
According to Football Insider, the 17-year-old starlet is currently at the Hammers with a view to signing a contract after entering the final year of his Arsenal scholarship.
Flaherty impressed for the West Ham Under-18s last Saturday, scoring in a 4-1 thumping of Norwich City in the Premier League South.
After a lengthy stint at Watford and 14 appearances for the Gunners, that could become a more regular sight in the near future.
Judging by how impressive he was in that triumph, if West Ham are to finally sign Flaherty it’ll be to place him right amongst the U18s set-up.
The young Hammers are sitting in fourth, five points off the league summit and are currently enjoying a four-match unbeaten run, winning the last two.
Flaherty will only add to the team’s attacking prowess and some Arsenal fans will be wondering why the club are letting such a promising talent leave after six years at the club.
Young players like Nathan Holland and Conor Coventry are on the brink of breaking into the first-team set-up and he’ll be arriving at the club with the same intentions.
