Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has provided an update on his strike partner Alexandre Lacazette’s recovery from injury, through videos on his Instagram story.
Lacazette is set to be out until at least next month with an ankle injury, which he played through at the start of the season. A statement released on Arsenal’s website upon the announcement of the injury read: “After assessments to an ongoing ankle issue, we have advised that Alex will need to rest and strengthen his ankle to regain full fitness.
“Alex has been playing through this injury for several weeks. He is likely to be back in action in October.”
Arsenal fans will be hoping that rehabilitation goes well and that the Frenchman is back as soon as possible, and if Aubameyang’s videos are anything to go by, then the striker is in high spirits as he works to return to the first team fold.
The videos show Lacazette doing work in the pool while sharing a joke and splashing water at his strike partner and pulling off some dance moves.
Laazette was the winner of the Arsenal player of the year award last season, and has so far scored two goals in his three appearances this campaign.
The Frenchman has already missed games against Watford, Aston Villa and Eintracht Frankfurt and will be unavailable for the weekend’s trip to Old Trafford.
