Arsenal could recall on-loan Leeds United striker Eddie Nketiah in January amid concerns over his amount of playing time according to Football.London.
Nketiah arrived at Leeds on a season-long loan deal from the Gunners but has so far yet to start in attack for the Whites with Patrick Bamford being preferred up front thus far.
He has however netted four goals for the Yorkshire club despite his limited game time and moved to Leeds with a huge reputation as the Gunners looked to aid his development ahead of breaking into the first-team fold.
The 20-year-old has a recall option in his contract and Arsenal could look to activate this should the striker not receive more playing time with Bristol City reportedly interested in the youngster.
Bristol City have lost forward Benik Afobe to injury for the rest of the season due to a knee injury and are looking to replace him and have sounded out Nketiah as their preferred choice.
However the Gunners’ are simply keeping a close eye on proceedings’ with no discussions between the player and two clubs over a potential mid-season recall as of yet.
Nketiah is seen as a future star at the Emirates and Unai Emery clearly has big plans for the England international and is determined for the striker to develop and mature his game as much as possible ahead of a return to London.
Bristol City were close to signing him in the summer before Leeds won the race but the situation regarding Nketiah won’t be addressed until next month’s international break.
