Arsenal are interested in Scunthorpe United midfielder Joey Dawson.
The Gunners are keen on snapping up the highly-rated teenager, according to a report by The Sun.
Dawson, who is 16 years-old, is a product of the Iron academy and has risen up through the youth ranks of the League Two outfit.
He became the Iron’s youngest ever player to make his first team debut in a Carabao Cup tie against Championship side Derby County at the Sands Venue Stadium in August.
The youngster is the nephew of former Tottenham Hotspur and current Nottingham Forest defender Michael Dawson and ex-Hull City left-back Andy Dawson.
Arsenal are scouring the lower leagues for potential players for the future as they look to bolster their youth ranks.
Dawson has been a key player for Scunthorpe’s youth sides over the past few years and is being tipped to further break into their first team in the near future.
He will have a decision to weigh up if the Gunners make an approach for his services, he would have more of an opportunity to play regular football sooner at Scunthorpe but obviously the pull of a Premier League giant will play a huge part.
Scunthorpe have made a slow start to their League Two season but beat Northampton 3-0 at home yesterday to move two points clear of the relegation zone to ease some pressure off their boss Paul Hurst.
