Arsenal are planning a move for Scunthorpe United youngster Joey Dawson, reports claim.
The midfielder, who is the nephew of former Tottenham captain Michael Dawson, became the youngest player ever to appear for Scunthorpe in a competitive game back in August at just 16 years and 75 days old.
Dawson is yet to make a league appearance for the Lincolnshire club, but has been named on the bench on five occasions as his side struggle in the relegation zone with just two wins from 13 matches this term.
According to The Sun, Arsenal are considering a move for the teenager in January or next summer.
Scunthorpe boss Paul Hurst recently raved about the playmaker, insisting he has a big future ahead of him.
“I think he’s a player with a lot of potential and showed good ability during pre-season in various games at different levels,” Hurst said after Dawson’s debut.
“It was a proud moment. He has to keep his feet on the ground now, whether that’s with the first team, Under-23s or Under-18s, and keep that hunger.”
The Gunners are currently enjoying a good run of form, having gone eight matches unbeaten in all competitions.
Unai Emery’s men are third in the table, having lost just one match all season to pace-setters Liverpool at Anfield.
