Arsenal supporters have appeared to take the side of Mesut Ozil over manager Unai Emery as they sang the name of the midfielder during their side’s 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace .

The result means the Gunners have won just once in four Premier League games, and sees them stay in fifth place, four points off fourth placed Chelsea .

Ozil has made just two appearances all season, with the German reportedly falling out with Emery, and he is being frozen out of the team as a result, and was not in the squad yet again against Palace.

Towards the end of their frustrating stalemate with the Eagles, however, the majority of Arsenal fans appeared to show their support for Ozil by singing his name.

Journalist James Olley posted on Twitter saying: “Crowd singing ‘We’ve got Mesut Ozil’ en masse. Pretty pointed message to Emery, that.”

It was not the only time the Emirates faithful showed their frustrations during the game, with the fanbase clashing with captain Granit Xhaka and booing the midfielder as they were angered by the Swiss taking his time to leave the pitch after being substituted in the second-half.

Notorious Arsenal supporter Troopz also made headlines when an angry social media post was ‘liked’ by Alexandre Lacazette following the game.

Troopz posted: “Im sorry, I’m done with this now. You can’t be 2-0 up at home to palace and draw. Emery I’ve backed you but bro, enough is enough. Xhaka can f*ck himself as well. Never wanna see him in an Arsenal top again.”

Emery is now under huge pressure to turn things around at the club, but he will find it difficult to get back to winning ways when Arsenal take on league leaders Liverpool in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.
