Arsenal have been handed a big fitness boost with reports suggesting Emile Smith Rowe has not suffered a serious injury.

Football.london report that the player’s omission from the squads to face Vitoria and Leicester were merely a precaution.

A tight calf muscle has seen him miss both of the recent games, but the injury is not thought to be anything long term.

Smith Rowe hasn’t featured for the Gunners since the home clash against Vitoria and his absence will be a huge frustration to supporters.

The Europa League game was just his third appearance in a senior shirt all season. He’s a player that many would’ve been hoping to really kick on this season after a difficult spell in Germany.

Constant injuries have got the better of him in recent months, but if he can move on from this he’s a player that can have a real impact in the squad.

There has been no official word on where and when he could feature next, but with games against Frankfurt, Norwich, Brighton and Standard Liege to come over the next month, he’ll be hoping to get a chance.
