Arsenal’s chase for a new manager continues to be reported in many places in Europe, with each country making a big coverage of their favourite candidate.
In Italy, there are rumours saying the Gunners could end up signing Carlo Ancelotti, who’s been in charge of Serie A side Napoli since 2018.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano has been invited by Radio Marte to speak about the manager’s situation today, and echoed much of what has already been said.
Romano explained Arsenal are interested in the former Chelsea manager, and also made it clear that his job at Napoli may not last very long, making things even easier for the Gunners.
“Ancelotti at Arsenal is a possibility. It’s not a negotiation in the phase of completion, but the hypothesis becomes more and more plausible,” Fabrizio Romano told Radio Marte (via Casa Napoli).
“Because some Arsenal leaders have always had a great consideration of the coach. Ancelotti is always further away from Napoli.”
There’s been claims in Italy for some days now that Napoli’s match against Genk this evening could be the manager’s last in charge. Should that turn out to be the case, and Ancelotti find himself out of work in the coming days, then Arsenal reports will surely grow.
Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis is notoriously difficult to deal with, so if that factor is removed then things could turn concrete.
For now there’s a lot of opportunistic speculation.
