Arsenal will not be going back for Wilfried Zaha this summer with the Crystal Palace man happy to wait for a club like Chelsea or Spurs to come for him at the end of the season.
Arsenal have been continually linked with Wilfried Zaha since before his ill-fated move to Manchester United in 2013.
Last summer, they put in a serious bid to try and land him but Palace’s demand of £80m for a player who wanted to leave for Arsenal, meant the club purchased Nicolas Pepe for £72m instead.
Since then, Arsenal have continued to be linked with the player who recently changed agents to bring in Pini Zahavi after failing to get a move last summer.
According to rumours in the UK press on Tuesday morning. the player, who has scored three and assisted three in 24 games this season, is happy to stay at Palace on £130kpw until the end of the season which is nice of him.
While we’re here, ‘flop’ Nicolas Pepe, who moved to a new club in a new league in a new country with a new language has five goals and four assists in 25 games compared to the man three years his senior who has been playing in the Premier League for the guts of 10 years yet is valued the same.
Anyway, all this is to say that Arsenal are no longer being linked with Zaha (this week anyway) and it is Chelsea and Spurs who are supposedly interested in parting with serious amounts of cash for a player who has never scored more than 10 goals in a single season.
