Inside Source Confirm Arsenal Star Has Suffered Delayed Injury Return Date

Goonersden brings you news from top football news sites from the likes of ESPN, SkySport, Daily Mail, Daily Star and Metro… We also Analyse football, player, transfer and predict Arsenal starting line-up.

Kieran Tierney probably won’t make a return to match action until mid-to-late March, despite recent pictures of him in training, according to David Ornstein.

Writing for The Athletic, David Ornstein reports Arsenal don’t expect Kieran Tierney back available for selection until mid-to-late March.

Pictures of the left-back on social media raised expectations of an early return, but the images are deceiving. Whilst Tierney is back out on the training pitches, he still can’t take part in any contact work. All the same, he’s travelling to Dubai with the squad this week.

Tierney dislocated his shoulder in a Premier League match against West Ham on December 9th. The original timescale on the injury put him out until March, so this isn’t a big surprise. It’s just a bit disappointing it isn’t at the start of the month.

Here are Arsenal’s fixtures in March:

  • Week commencing March 2nd – Portsmouth (A) – FA Cup
  • Saturday, March 7th – West Ham United (H) – PL
  • Thursday, March 12th – Europa League Ro16 if qualified
  • Saturday, March 14th – Brighton & Hove Albion (A) – PL
  • Thursday, March 19th – Europa League Ro16 if qualified
  • March 20th – March 23rd – FA Cup quarter-final if qualified
  • Sunday, March 22nd – Southampton (A) – PL

As you can see, it’s either going to be a very busy month or one with as few as four fixtures, depending on Arsenal’s progression in the FA Cup and Europa League.

If the Gunners do keep advancing in those competitions, it would be nice if Tierney could make it back by the middle of the month when it gets hectic.
