2 Arsenal players selected as England manager opts for youth

Phill Neville has selected a young squad for the SheBelieves Cup with a good number of players that won the Bronze medal the FIFA u-20 WWC tournament in France two years ago included.

England will play three games against the USA, Japan and Spain as part of their Euro 2021 preparations. They are the tournament holders and will look to test themselves against three strong nations.

With England hosting the Euro tournament, they have to make do with international friendlies for two seasons and those games are a huge part of England’s preparation

It is clear that Phil Neville is bringing the younger players in now so that they are ready for the tournament in 16 months time. It also interesting to note that he is bringing two young players in Alessia Russo and Hannah Hampton again.

With six u-20 WWC Bronze medal players involved (Roebuck, McIver, Fisk, Hemp, Stanway and Kelly), the new generation is preparing to take over and should make England a strong side in 2021 and even better at the World Cup in 2023.
