Arsenal are working on a new five-year deal for Bukayo Saka, speeding up negotiations on the basis of the 18-year-old’s recent form.
David Ornstein reports for The Athletic that Arsenal are pushing ‘extremely hard’ to sign Bukayo Saka up to a new five-year deal as soon as possible. The winger/left-back is on a £3,000-a-week contract lasting until 2021 as things stand.
The club are currently optimistic about their chances of securing an extension for the talented teenager. Nothing is imminent, but talks took place last week and they’ve already planned more.
Ornstein also repeats rumours from the English media this week suggesting Liverpool, Manchester United and Bayern Munich all hold an interest in the teenager.
Saka won the Man of the Match award after his impressive display for Arsenal against Newcastle at the weekend. He provided the assist for the second goal of the game, his eighth assist of the season.
Combine that with his three goals, and you hit double figures for the campaign. Not bad at all for a player who only turned 18 this season. Especially one often playing at left-back. It’s up to Arsenal to get him to sign his contract now.
