Dani Ceballos says he’s had to overcome a few challenges since arriving at Arsenal over the summer, but he’s trying to give everything for the team now.

Ceballos joined Arsenal on loan from Real Madrid at the start of the season, hoping to play regularly ahead of Euro 2020 this summer.

At first, the loanee had no problem doing so, featuring in every single game for three months. He arguably played too much, picking up an injury. He spent an extended period on the sidelines watching as Arsenal fell apart, with Unai Emery losing his job.

It wasn’t all smooth sailing even before the injury. After a fantastic debut, Ceballos freely admits he had to go through a tricky period of adaptation.

“I’ve had to overcome a few challenges since I arrived,” Ceballos told Arsenal.com. “When you join a new league like the Premier League, the intensity is very high and the adaptation period is a bit trickier.

“I was also unlucky that I picked up my first injury in six or seven years as a professional footballer.

“That came at a time when the team was struggling a little bit, so it was really tough watching at home because I could see that the team was in a difficult place and it was infuriating not being able to help.”

‘I’m trying to give everything I have’

The midfielder is looking to the future now. He’s fit again and hoping he can help Arsenal reach their goals with him in the team.

“I’m back with the team now,” Ceballos continued. “I’m trying to give everything I have to help us recoup the points we dropped in the first half of the season.”

The 23-year-old made a positive return to the team in a cameo against Bournemouth, then impressed in a start against Newcastle. He needs to find some consistency, and perhaps involve himself in the goals a bit more. All the same, it’s good to have him back.
