The tide has turned swiftly against Ivan Gazidis as AC Milan fans realise a lot quicker than Arsenal ones did that the CEO is more than a bit useless.
During his time at Arsenal, Gazidis was happy to let Arsene Wenger take the blame for just about everything.
When the Frenchman was finally shown the door, we all thought this was going to be Gazidis’s time to step out from the shadows and come into his own. Instead, he stepped onto a plane to double his salary by working for his mate, Paul Singer, at AC Milan.
At the time, some Milan fans were gloating over his arrival but, as we discussed, we weren’t really sure what he’d actually ever done at Arsenal so couldn’t understand their excitement.
Despite only taking up the post at the end of 2018, things are already turning nasty for him.
“He is hated by many, loved by few,” writes Angelredblack on Calciomercato.
“They criticise him for not delivering the results expected. Some defend him, others can’t wait for him to disappear from the Casa Milan offices.
“For Elliott, he’s an untouchable. Paul Singer’s American fund owner of AC Milan has given him full powers. Some consider him an incompetent who does not understand anything about football…”
There’s not really much to add to that, is there?
