Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is demanding £300,000 a week to stay at Arsenal, according to reports.
The 30-year-old will have just a year left on his current contract at the end of the season, which means the Gunners run the risk of losing their top scorer on a free transfer in 2021.
According to MailOnline, Arsenal have opened talks with Aubameyang over a new contract.
But the report claims that the Gunners are likely to sell the Gabon international this summer as he is requesting a new deal worth £300,000 a week – a 30 per cent increase on his current contract.
Aubameyang has been in excellent form for Arsenal this season with 20 goals in 31 appearances.
Reports have claimed that the striker is keen to leave Arsenal in order to play for a club who stand a better chance of winning a major trophy, including the Champions League.
But Aubameyang has claimed this week that trophies will not define his career.
‘I’m a striker so I will defend my side – I don’t think you need trophies to be a top striker,’ he told Sky Sports.
‘Of course, it can help you but we’ve seen a lot of great players that didn’t win trophies but we respect them because of their quality. ‘You don’t need to win trophies but if you win it, it’s better.’
