Thierry Henry has sent a message to Norwich City and former Arsenal academy striker Shae Hutchinson, whilst the 19-year-old waits for a kidney transplant.

Thierry Henry sent a message to Shae Hutchinson through the Norwich City Twitter account on Tuesday. The youngster has Alport syndrome, a condition causing progressive loss of kidney function, and he’s in need of a transplant.

Henry told the teenager that he views him as a hero given the unbelievable situation he’s having to go through.

Hutchinson left Arsenal for Norwich’s development set-up in 2017, just before his 17th birthday. Unfortunately, by October 2018 he needed a kidney transplant, as his kidney was operating at just 15%.

The problem is that his new one is now only operating at 17%, barely an improvement. He needs another as soon as possible now.

Hutchinson was in top form for the Norwich City u23s in 2020. He had three goals and an assist in just four appearances before the coronavirus shutdown. Clearly, he’s a talented young striker doing his best to overcome an unfair situation.

It’s good to see Henry wishing the player well.
