Juventus are joining the race to sign Dani Ceballos this summer, with the midfielder’s loan spell at Arsenal close to its conclusion.

Mundo Deportivo (via Football-Espana) report that Juventus will work quickly to secure a deal for Ceballos. They’re planning to offer a significant wage increase from €3m per year to €4.5m or €5m a year. The Serie A club are also willing to pay a €40m transfer fee.

Right now, we don’t know exactly when Ceballos’ loan will end. His contract lasts until June 30th, and it seems like Arsenal will still have matches going on up until that date. It’s quite likely they’ll also need him for matches this season in July, though.

We’re hoping Arsenal can agree on a short-term extension if that’s the case. After that, we’ll get to the question of whether the club sign permanently or not.

There’s no purchase clause in Ceballos’ loan contract for Arsenal to take up. If they want to sign him, they have to negotiate fresh with Real Madrid. As a result, they really have no advantage over another club like Juventus.

Real Madrid and Ceballos have all the power in this situation, so it’s really a case of waiting to see what they want to do when the season is over, as well as how the season ends for Arsenal.
