Matteo Guendouzi is open to leaving Arsenal this summer, and they aren’t completely against cashing in, according to reports in France.

L’Equipe (via GFFN) claim Arsenal and Matteo Guendouzi took the opportunity in their recent disciplinary meeting to discuss the player’s longer-term future ahead of the summer.

The club were initially meeting with Guendouzi to talk about his actions in grabbing Neal Maupay’s throat after the Brighton match, but they went on to discuss the possibility of a summer transfer.

According to the report, Guendouzi suggested he wouldn’t oppose a move. Arsenal reciprocated by telling the player he can leave ‘if the stars align’. They reportedly want at least €40m for a sale but aren’t closing the door entirely.

Guendouzi is a bit unhappy with his situation at the moment because he isn’t playing as much as under Unai Emery. Since Mikel Arteta joined Arsenal he’s made eight starts in 18 matches. Three of those were in the three FA Cup rounds so far.

The 21-year-old wants to play regularly ahead of Euro 2020 and is drawing plenty of interest. Inter Milan, Juventus and Manchester United reportedly made their interest known to Arsenal, whilst Real Madrid and Barcelona are watching.

Personally, I wouldn’t sell for anywhere near €40m. That’s roughly what Alex Iwobi left for to join Everton last summer. If we’re selling a 21-year-old with most of Europe’s top clubs after him, the figure should hit double that. At least €60m, even in the current financial situation.
