Paris Saint-Germain left-back Layvin Kurzawa is likely to become yet another Arsenal-linked player that decides to extend with his current club.
According to RMC (via GFFN), Layvin Kurzawa will extend his current contract with Paris Saint-Germain to 2024. The left-back’s deal was previously going to expire at the end of the month, making him a free agent.
Instead, he reportedly gave the club his agreement in principle to sign a new deal. The PSG dressing room are fond of him, and would be happy to see him extend.
This could bring an end to an ongoing transfer saga involving Kurzawa and Arsenal. Back in January, the club reportedly held talks with the player over a potential transfer. In April, some outlets then reported that he was close to joining on a free.
Kurzawa apparently wanted a five-year deal at his new club, and over £100k-a-week after tax. Perhaps it just reached a point in the current worldwide financial situation where no one was offering that figure except his current team.
Whatever the case may be, it seems unlikely Kurzawa will end up in North London this summer.
