Arsenal are growing increasingly confident and determined about bringing Dani Ceballos back to the club for next season, on loan or permanently.
Mark Mann-Bryans of PA Sport reports that Arsenal are growing increasingly confident of bringing Dani Ceballos back on loan. The club are likely to announce as much after the FA Cup final, according to the claims.
Meanwhile, the Mirror claim Mikel Arteta is ‘determined’ to seal a permanent deal for the player.
The reality may well be somewhere in between. Recent reports suggest another loan with a purchase clause is a likely compromise between Arsenal, who are keen on a loan, and Real Madrid, who would prefer to cash in.
Ceballos is featuring regularly in recent matches, and given his form, he’ll probably keep starting in the final weeks of the season.
The player seems very positive about the possibility of another Arsenal move. He admitted to Sky Sports that he’s happy at the club, and it would be easy to return. However, he also confirmed that his parent club will have the final say in the matter.
A loan with a purchase clause is a great option for Arsenal and Ceballos. They get another year to settle together and evaluate his long-term prospects, without the risk that he fits in so well that his value skyrockets and Real refuse to sell.
Plus, Arsenal probably won’t have a huge amount of money to spend this summer. Putting off the permanent deal to 2021 helps with that. But despite the reports of the club’s confidence, I’m not going to invest myself emotionally until we see what happens with the rest of the season.
