The 32-year-old is believed to have signed a three-year deal with Arsenal on slightly lower wages than he was getting at Chelsea.
Despite persistent rumours that this signing is only happening because of Kia Joorabchian, it was claimed in the Telegraph on Monday that Arteta had specifically requested the player himself.
Willian won a total of five trophies with Chelsea after signing from Anzhi in 2013 for £31.95m and was a regular in the starting lineup under five different managers.
Arsenal have announced the signing last week, making Willian their first signing of a summer that is going to see a lot of activity.
The above tweet reads, “Willian had medical tests at Arsenal. All right with the player – inflammation that took him out of Chelsea’s last three games this season is no problem. Announcement of the hit ever closer.”
Arsenal have already confirmed two outgoings.
