Paris Saint-Germain are willing to offer Julian Draxler as part of a swap deal to sign Arsenal’s Matteo Guendouzi, according to reports.

The Frenchman was axed from the Gunners squad last season for grabbing Neal Maupay by the neck following a defeat to Brighton in June.

Guendouzi didn’t feature again for the remainder of the campaign, prompting speculation of a move away from the Emirates.

PSG were originally one of the teams linked, however, recent reports indicated that the French champions snubbed the chance to sign the youngster.

It now seems that the 21-year-old will be given a clean slate at the north London club, with Mikel Arteta finally allowing the midfielder to return to training.

But, L’Equipe now claim that PSG are considering signing Guendouzi and could use Draxler as part of a swap deal.

The Germany international is due to become a free agent when his deal expires next summer and the Ligue 1 side are open to selling him in this transfer window.

Draxler has been linked with the likes of Leeds United and Bayer Leverkusen, but the 26-year-old is said to be keen on remaining in France.

Arteta remarked prior to the Community Shield victory over Liverpool that all players begin the new season ‘from zero’.

When asked what he told Guendouzi before the start of the campaign, the Spaniard said: ‘I’ve told him exactly that. That he’ll be part of the team and at the moment he’s like any other player in our squad.

‘He deserves to be treated exactly the same and I will do that to my best capability.’
