With a couple of new problems thrown up in the last week of club action and first week of international break, here’s our Arsenal injury news for Leeds United.
Arsenal had a couple of injury setbacks in the final week before the international break.
After David Luiz’s return to action, Arsenal had to deal with Reiss Nelson’s minor knee injury, exclusively revealed by us. Arsenal have now confirmed he has a knock and bruising to his right knee, but he’s aiming to return to full training this week.
That’s good news, as it means he’ll probably return to fitness in time for the next game.
Thomas Partey is also out with a new injury to his thigh, picked up against Aston Villa. At this stage, all we know is that he’s pulling out of international duty, but keep checking back for updates after his scans and assessments in the coming days.
Calum Chambers is in full training, but we don’t know exactly when he’ll return to action. Recovering from an ACL injury, we know how long it can take to get fully match sharp again.
Mikel Arteta recently confirmed that Pablo Mari had a setback in his recovery, but he should be returning to full training soon. The last update we had was that he’d return to full training after the November international break.
Gabriel Martinelli is back out on the grass playing with the ball again, but he’s still a way off reclaiming his place in the starting lineup. Arsenal don’t expect him back out there until towards the end of the year.
Arsenal injury news for Leeds United summary
Martinelli, Mari, and Chambers are all likely to miss the Leeds clash. Mari should be back in training, as we mentioned, but that doesn’t mean he’ll immediately rejoin the action on the pitch.
Nelson should return in time to feature if Mikel Arteta actually picks him. Partey is a doubt.
