Dominik Szoboszlai’s agent claims his client is now getting closer to leaving RB Salzburg, whether in January or next summer.

Dominik Szoboszlai is making a lot of headlines at the moment, and his agent isn’t exactly helping to quell the speculation.

Matyas Esterhazy recently confirmed interest in his client from Arsenal, and later denied an agreement between Szoboszlai and RB Leipzig, or any other potential buyer for that matter.

Despite denying an agreement at this stage, Esterhazy admits Szoboszlai is getting closer to the stage where he does leave RB Salzburg.

“Obviously, it’s no secret that Dominik is closer now to leaving the Austrian league,” Esterhazy said (via Metro).

“Whether it’s in January or next summer, the most important thing is that he goes to a club where he will have a good chance of playing regularly and continuing the learning curve he started in Salzburg – that’s the most important thing for us.”

Szoboszlai is in great form with Salzburg, with five goals and nine assists in 13 club matches this season. His goal over the international break sent Hungary to Euro 2020, and it was his second in four games on international duty this campaign.

Hence all the talk about him at the moment. Every time he plays, another clip of him goes viral on social media and gets fans excited. The 20-year-old also reportedly has a €25m release clause, so all those goals and assists don’t make him unaffordable.

If Arsenal continue to have problems in front of goal, they may well look at bolstering the midfield to address that.
