Thomas Partey picked up a muscle strain in the North London derby that will likely keep him out until January, according to a report.
TheAFCBell claim Thomas Partey didn’t suffer any cuts or muscle tears, but he did strain a thigh muscle close to the site of his previous injury. There was no need for surgery, so that’s the good news.
Partey started his treatment program on Wednesday, and the club will continue to assess his response to it on a daily basis. For now, they’ve set January as a possible return date.
Mikel Arteta recently insisted that though Partey’s injury is in the same place as his last setback, it’s not the exact same injury, and he was tested thoroughly prior to making the starting lineup against Spurs.
Partey hasn’t had much luck with Arsenal so far, since his transfer to the club in October. The midfielder only made a few starts before picking up two injuries against Aston Villa, and when he returned a month later, he immediately picked up another.
Considering he cost the club so much to bring in, the situation isn’t ideal. But Partey’s quality has been clear in the games he has played, so we can only hope he comes good and has an injury-free run from January onwards.
