Julian Brandt isn’t on the way to Arsenal this month, with the German media even ruling out a loan move for the player.

Over the last month, Julian Brandt has been one of the players linked with an Arsenal move by reliable sources.

David Ornstein originally confirmed the club’s interest in the midfielder, admitting they’d ‘considered’ a move for Brandt. Football.London then reported that Brandt was a realistic alternative to Emi Buendia in January.

There were conflicting claims about the potential price, with Chris Wheatley initially putting a €25m price tag on the player before German sources suggested he could cost more than twice that.

However, Sky Sports in Germany are now claiming a deal is off the table.

Sky report that the rumours of a transfer to Arsenal are not true, and even a loan isn’t an option for the Dortmund bosses as things stand. Everything points towards the player remaining in Germany beyond January.

The outlet doesn’t completely rule out a transfer, simply labelling it ‘very unlikely’.

Brandt is still a regular for Dortmund, making 23 appearances this season, though he’s only started 10 of those games. He’s a strong passer and dribbler from central midfield.
