Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed his admiration for Jack Grealish, describing the Aston Villa captain and Manchester United transfer target as a ‘great player’.
Grealish has established himself as one of the stars of the Premier League and an England regular over the past two seasons.
Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer expressed interest in signing the 25-year-old last summer and Man United are said to be keeping tabs on his situation at Villa Park ahead of this summer’s transfer window.
Grealish is one of a number of exciting England forwards, with Manchester City’s Phil Foden, Leicester City’s James Maddison and Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho all emerging as key players for their respective clubs.
Asked about the crop of Englishman, Arsenal legend Wenger told beIN Sports: ‘I like Jack Grealish. He has mastered [how to play] slow and quick.
‘He can dribble, he has composure, he is very creative in his passing. Phil Foden is a bit more direct but I would have to say that they are both great players.’
Last month, Manchester United hero Rio Ferdinand urged his former club to sign Grealish from Villa, regardless of whether Paul Pogba leaves Old Trafford or not.
